Many
people think automation systems are like the Jetson's robot-butler:
comic, futuristic machines that will bring us our slippers and
paper. The reality is that you may already have some home automation
components in your home.
If you have a lamp plugged into a timer so that it will come on
when you're not home, a wireless doorbell or a motion-detecting
outdoor light, you're already in the world of home automation.
Home automation systems can control lighting and security systems,
audio/video systems, heating and cooling, anything motorized and
even some things you might not think of, like electronic bath
fixtures.

Talk
to us first. The majority of our jobs are done in homes while
they are being constructed. We have worked with many builders,
interior designers and architects and understand the situations
and problems you are facing. Coordinating all the stages of
installation from rough-in to trim out is done smoothly with
HomeFX. We provide many services, which is appreciated by
builders and architects, since they like to deal with as few
people as possible. This cooperation results in a job that doesn't
get stalled, where deadlines are met, appointments kept, and
wires don't get crossed.

Video
touch screens can be used to control whole house systems. The
screens are mounted in the most commonly used rooms. You control
various components in the home by touching your selections on
the screen. For example hardwired lighting
controls can be mounted on a wall in a room which controls
all types of lighting effects throughout the home. Another common
wall touch screen control is for your home audio
system. These touch screens can be programmed to sort through
200 CD's and you have complete control over all your speakers
in the home.
Hand
held remote control units (like the one for your television
or VCR) are generally designed for indoor single-room use, but
can be combined with repeater devices that will carry the signal
to other rooms. The units are common for audio/video equipment
but are now being used to control lighting, drapes, gas fireplaces
and more.
Telephone control is another option. Codes are punched on the
touch-tone keypad to control various functions. An advantage
of telephone control is that you can use it from remote locations
or your car phone.
Some systems are operated by personal computer. You can have
a dedicated computer that is on at all times, or use your computer
to program other equipment, so you can then use the computer
for other tasks.
